The Engineering & Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) award Doctoral Training Grants (DTG) each year to universities based on research grant income. The University of Strathclyde is awarded approx £2M per year which is distributed to Faculties and Departments who allocate to students.
All Strathclyde EPSRC DTG studentships fund the home tuition fee and a stipend for 3.5 years. The Strathclyde EPSRC DTG, Departments Faculty and/or Industry funds contribute to the full cost of the studentship.

Je-S is the RCUK database used by all research councils. Personal, project and funding details of all DTG funded students must be entered on Je-S within one month of registration. RKES is responsible for entering this data and will ask supervisors to complete a student data collection form.
The supervisors of all EPSRC DTG funded students have access to a Research Training Support Grant which is used to fund the costs of the PhD project including consumables and conference travel.
The DTG includes funds for Undergraduate Vacation Bursaries each year.
