Curriculum

At Strathclyde all students must take a minimum 120 credits worth of classes each year (One credit is equivalent to 10 hours of student learning, which can involve attending lectures, tutorials, laboratory classes and background reading for example).

Students are also expected to take at least 20 credits of elective classes, where an elective is an optional class that is not deemed to be part of the core curriculum of the course. For the MPhys, BSc Physics and BSc Physics with Teaching degrees the students take their 20 credits of elective classes in first year. The curricula for the degrees is shown in the table below:
