Multidisciplinary collaboration is crucial if research is to have an impact on the important challenges faced by our world today. To make significant technological advances, which are beyond the boundaries of traditional disciplines, requires a new approach to organising research activities.
Major advances in technology are research-led so we encourage the cross-fertilization of ideas by initiating long-term collaborations between our academic disciplines. We aim to capitalise on the specialist expertise within our various research institutes and centres by creating multidisciplinary groups to stimulate innovation.
