Research & Innovation (R&I) supports staff in winning and managing research funding, protecting research results through intellectual property rights (IPR) and helping transfer research results into practical applications through collaborative R&D with industry, licensing and new company formation.
R&I's Grants & Contracts Team assist staff in costing and pricing work as well as negotiating and managing grants and contracts. This section also includes news and current information on pFACT, Je-S and on main funding bodies.
R&I's International Business Development Team provide support through the process of applying for, and managing, European and international funding for research, education and training. This includes EU funding and FP7.
The Research Business Development Team aim to support the strategic research development goals of individual faculties, departments and academic staff. This section also contains links to Research Research and Community of Science as well as highlighting other sources of funding for research activity.
R&I's Business Development Team handle all licensing and collaboration with industry as well as spin-out company formation. They also advise on patenting and intellectual property issues.
The EPSRC funded Collaborative Training Account and Doctoral Training Account team, provide professional services to enhance knowledge exchange through collaboration and studentship development. The team can also advise on collaboration and studentships for other Research Councils.
R&I is also home to Strathclyde Entrepreneurial Network (SEN)- and has close ties with the wider enterprise community including The West of Scotland Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Centre.
