Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught Students

University-Established Programmes

The Strathclyde BA Business Enterprise arms students with real-world skills that are highly valued in an increasingly competitive employment market. The programme is aimed at those who want to start new enterprises, who wish to take over the management of an existing organisation and who see themselves taking up leadership positions in a wide variety of business settings.

The Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship provides a number of postgraduate offerings to students in Strathclyde Business School and in other faculties across the university.
Vertically Integrated Projects give students from first year through to postgraduate level the opportunity to work with staff in multi-disciplinary teams applying classroom learning to cutting-edge research and development projects.

Extra-Curricular Opportunities

Enactus is a non-profit organisation that brings together student, academic and business leaders who are committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. Find out more here

Collaborations between the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship and the Computer & Information Sciences Department, have established AppCity which brings together students from each discipline to design and develop mobile apps.

Postgraduate and Early Career Researchers

The Researcher Development Programme (RDP) offers research students and staff a range of opportunities to continue their personal, professional and career management skills development.

Strathclyde’s Impact Acceleration Account is committed to engaging a cohort of ‘Impact Champions’ who are appointed to facilitate engagement between external organisations and Strathclyde researchers and academics on projects to help drive the planning and implementation of knowledge exchange activities, with the overarching aim of accelerating the potential impact from their research.

The SPIRAL programme offers a comprehensive range of support for academics covering key research and KE leadership areas.

Knowledge Exchange and Innovation Training helps academics to explore the ways in which their research can be exploited, thereby creating an impact in the external environment.

Company Creation Conference

The Strathclyde Entrepreneurial Network will be hosting the inaugural Company Creation Conference on Wednesday 16th November 2016. This one-day conference is FREE and open to the entire Strathclyde community, including: undergraduates, MSc and PhD students, alumni, academics and research staff.

The Company Creation Conference is designed to give you the tools you need to turn your ideas into successful companies. Participants will have access to four parallel sessions, each containing workshops that cater to entrepreneurs at both the idea and start-up phases. Sessions will cover topics that highlight the unique package of entrepreneurial support at Strathclyde, including:

  • Health Checking Your Idea
  • Intellectual Property (for both idea and start-up phase)
  • Commercialising Your Research
  • Securing Investment
  • Perfecting Your Pitch
  • Accessing External Grant Funding
