Personal statement

Anne is a Teaching Fellow in the School of Social Work and Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Anne joined the university in 1999, having worked for 15 years in the field of community based adult learning promoting lifelong learning opportunities for those with little or no experience of education since leaving school. In 2015, Anne joined the BA Education & Social Services which is a collaborative programme with further education that facilitates access for under-represented groups within higher education. Anne’s interest in widening participation developed whilst working on the BA in Community Education where she developed a flexible, part-time route which enabled unqualified fieldwork practitioners access a degree level programme without the normal entry qualifications required for higher education.
