main content

FUNDING FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDY

It is important to find out about postgraduate funding in good time. Even if this is available for your course, the number of funded places could be limited.

Scholarships

For information about Scholarships and other sources of funding for Postgraduate students, see the following link http://www.strath.ac.uk/search/scholarships/index.jsp.

Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS)

You may be eligible for a tuition fee loan of up to £3,400 (£1,700 for part-time courses) for certain vocational postgraduate courses, mostly at diploma level. SAAS do not support all postgraduate courses. Please check SAAS website for further information http://www.saas.gov.uk/student_support/special_circumstances/postgrad.htm

PGDE

For these courses, the support arrangements will be the same as for an undergraduate course i.e. student loan, bursary etc. Scottish students should apply through SAAS for funding.

Social Work Courses

Awards for postgraduate social work courses in Scotland are the responsibility of the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC). Visit the Scottish Social Services Council website for more information at: http://www.sssc.uk.com/Homepage.htm
