Study with us Postgraduate funding for Scottish & EU students

The Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) offers funding for students who usually live in Scotland and non-UK EU postgraduate students studying one of our Masters or Postgraduate Diplomas.

Postgraduate tuition fee loan

This loan is to be used towards tuition fees for students wanting to study for a Masters or Postgraduate Diploma. You can borrow up to a maximum of £5,500 for full-time courses, and up to £2,750 for two-year part-time courses.

If the tuition fees for your chosen postgraduate course are higher than the loan amount, you must be sure that you can pay the differing amount.

This money is paid directly to the University.

Postgraduate living cost loan

Full-time students who usually live in Scotland may also be eligible for a living-costs loan of up to £4,500.

For some students this amount isn’t enough to cover all of their living costs, if this is the case you need to think about how you will cover the rest. If you are considering working part time whilst you’re studying you should check before you start your course how much work is possible whilst studying.

Eligibility

Please see the SAAS website for full, up-to-date, eligibility criteria.

You will not be eligible for help with the cost of your tuition fees if you have already received support from UK or other EU public funds for a course of postgraduate study.
