Strathclyder Andrew Wright studied Business Management and has gone on to enjoy a colourful career which has taken him around the world.

Keen to continue in academia, Andrew moved to Manchester and studied for a further four years before graduating with a First Class Honours in International Fashion Marketing.

The combination of degrees was a springboard straight into a temporary Marketing Assistant position at N Brown Plc, where he developed a local marketing strategy for their portfolio of 21 High and Mighty retail stores. This role was made permanent and he was promoted to Executive, at which point he created the brand’s first national outdoor and print advertising campaign that was recognised by Retail Week as their ‘Campaign of the Week’.

A year later he progressed internally to a Coordinator, joining the Jacamo Brand Management Team to work on seasonal brand campaigns. With responsibility for the marketing of their growing portfolio of stores, the jewel in this Jacamo crown was the opening of their flagship Oxford Street store in London.

With an established blue-chip background, Andrew moved to Regatta Great Outdoors where he led retail marketing internationally including stores, concessions and wholesale customers, and played a key role in rolling out an estate of over 1000 locations.

In 2016 he was headhunted by Henri Lloyd and joined as Global Marketing Manager. He took ownership of marketing and communications for the fashion brand, including the technical sailing range. This diverse role saw Andrew lead a range of projects including the brand’s marketing campaign during The America’s Cup, high profile sports sponsorships, PR launch events and social media growth.

In 2018 he joined a JD Sports' subsidiary, 2squared agency, as Head of Marketing & Ecommerce to build and lead a team, working on numerous new and existing fashion brands.

Throughout Andrew’s marketing roles, he worked closely with Giraffe Event Solutions on everything from pop-up stores, to roadshow events and PR launches. Being so impressed and confident in the company, he recently agreed to join as Managing Director.

Over five years, Giraffe has built a great reputation in the industry for event management, event décor and theming, and venue décor including floristry.

Andrew has moved the business to refurbished offices, rebranded including a slick new website and social media identity, and grown the team to 10 in just a few months. As a brand extension he has also launched giraffeflowers.co.uk to share the quality of corporate floristry and décor with B2C customers.

With an impressive list of corporate clients and being the recommended supplier for many venues in the city, Giraffe is poised for growth.
