Alumni Welcome to the global alumni community

Strathclyde Class of 2017

Many congratulations to the class of 2017 from all of us in the Alumni & Development team! We are the department responsible for keeping a link between the University and you, our former students.

Your Strathclyde journey doesn’t end here. Now that you’ve graduated, you’ve automatically joined a global network of over 162,000 alumni who are still connected to the University.

Who are alumni?

Alumni is the collective Latin noun for 'a person who has attended or has graduated from a particular school, college, or university.' Anyone who has attended the University of Strathclyde is classed as a member of the alumni community, even if you are only here for one semester on an exchange programme. A female former student is referred to as an 'alumna' and a male is an 'alumnus'.

Stay connected

As an alumnus or alumna of Strathclyde you can receive regular communications from us including the annual alumni magazine, Strathclyde People; e-newsletters; information about alumni benefits; and invitations to social and professional events in your area.

Access benefits

Our alumni have access to a range of benefits and support from Strathclyde and the wider alumni community. These include:

  • invitations to events and reunions in the UK and overseas
  • global networking opportunities through our network of alumni groups
  • graduate careers advice
  • business support
  • ongoing access to University facilities such as the library and sports centre

Get involved

Alumni volunteering

Many of our alumni make a difference to the lives of current and future students by sharing their time, knowledge and experience. Take a look at our Alumni Volunteering pages to see how you could help.

Fundraise for Strathclyde

In the last 10 years, the Alumni Fund has awarded £2 million to support Strathclyde students. Funding impacts on every Strathclyde student and relies exclusively on donations from the University’s alumni community.

Could you raise funds for tomorrow’s Strathclyde students? You and a group of friends could organise an event or take part in a challenge to raise vital funds to support Strathclyde students and projects, like undergraduate scholarships or international development projects.

Give to Strathclyde

Once you start in your career you can join your fellow alumni in ensuring that future generations of Strathclyde students can enjoy the same opportunities as you, by supporting the Alumni Fund.

A regular gift will allow our scholarships programme to support people from low income backgrounds, fund library projects, provide additional learning resources and international study opportunities, and ensure student clubs and projects are adequately funded.
