Carter Collections

This collection comprises around 100 items, mainly on economics and education, written or edited by Sir Charles Carter. The collection also includes archival material, listed separately, connected with his research and editorial work.

From the library of Sir Charles Carter (1919-2002), economist and founding vice-chancellor of the University of Lancaster.

New Towns Collection

This collection comprises around 500 items relating to new towns in Britain and internationally.  The material dates from the 1920s until the present and includes reports, town plans and planning proposals, and maps. The collection also includes archival material relating to new towns in Scotland, with particular emphasis on Livingston. Donated by I-Document Systems in 2002.

Royal Scottish Geographical Society (Reference) Collection

The collection includes works on polar exploration, mountaineering, travel and topography. It contains some rare and valuable items from the library deposited by the Society following the relocation of their headquarters to the Graham Hills Building in 1993.

Glasgow Stock Exchange Collection

This collection comprises a unique set of Glasgow Stock Exchange Daily Lists from 1844 to the 1960s. Also very rare Glasgow Stock Exchange local acts. Donated by the Glasgow Stock Exchange.
