Fintech

Financial Technology (Fintech) is the use of innovative digital technology in finance.  CeFRI is a leading centre of excellence in the field of Fintech.

 Strathclyde University has designated Fintech as a strategic cluster.  In this respect, CeFRI acts as a co-ordinator of the University’s multi-disciplinary academic efforts.  CeFRI’s focus in on Strategic Fintech, an implication led approach to evaluate the changes that financial technology brings to financial services. It encompasses financial mediation in a digital world. CeFRI promotes academic research into Fintech that provides a framework from which to manage disruption at both a business and a societal level.

 CeFRI was given the “People Make Glasgow Educational Award” for its work on Fintech related content.  SBS launched the first MSc Fintech in the United Kingdom and has a doctoral training centre focused on the topic.
