Regtech
CeFRI host the Regtech Forum. This is an emergent virtual international community of interest which could be described as a demand led knowledge based network comprising international and institutionally diverse participants. It was established to share experiences, to consider challenges and to explore developments in financial regulation and compliance. The impact of digitisation on the finance system is having a significant effect on financial products and services and consequently, the need for revised and new digital regulatory and supervisory reporting processes and procedures. The Forum and the related Regtech Alliance have held a number of events and have released a publication on the role of data utilities in financial crime and financial inclusion.
The Regtech forum events have focused on six priority areas that were identified for Regtech. These are digital regulatory reporting, identity management, regulatory compliance, privacy, cybersecurity and financial inclusion. The recordings of these events and some of the presentations as well as the publication by Gerald Murphy may be found in the Dropbox folder link below. In addition the Regtech Alliance, which is more broadly focused, has organized three events on Data Flow, Innovation for Good and Central Bank Digital Currencies. Links to these event recordings are below.
We welcome expressions of interest in events and potential collaborations in the area of digital regulatory compliance across different industries, not just financial services. In addition to the participants in the Regtech Forum and Alliance there are a number of entities in Strathclyde including centres, clusters and institutes that have an interest in digital regulatory compliance across a number of sectors.
The RegTech Forum Series - typically every 4th Friday in the month , 4pm-5pm
