The Strathclyde MBA - an excellent investment
With so many MBA programmes on offer, your choice of school is crucial. An MBA from the University of Strathclyde Business School is the best investment you can make in your career as a professional manager. Strathclyde's international reputation, combined with its high academic and selection standards, is your guarantee that your MBA will retain its value in the years to come.
The Strathclyde MBA in Greece
The Strathclyde MBA has been available outside the UK since 1988. Over 2000 course participants have now graduated, and over 1500 students are currently studying the programme in their own country.
This success is due to the unique delivery structure developed with the local partner, incorporating elements of full-time, part-time and open-learning modes of study.
How does the programme work?
The study route to your part-time MBA is flexible with most participants taking between two to two and a half years to complete. Each year is divided into two semesters starting in October and April. Students are provided with a range of text books, course workbooks, core learning materials, and online access to the Strathclyde University library.
In terms of teaching, for each subject students attend a two day intensive seminar delivered by academics from Strathclyde University and scheduled over weekends. These seminars are mainly based around the core learning elements of each subject but also contextualised to cover the business environment specific to the region. Additionally, throughout the programme, students attend a range of workshops and simulations to enhance and develop their managerial skills and competencies.
Supporting all of this, participants attend weekly (evening and/or weekend) counselling (tutorial) sessions delivered by locally appointed counsellors. The intensive seminars, workshops and counselling sessions ensure that all MBA students have the same learning experience and reach the same standards as participants attending the MBA programme in the UK. Students enrolled on the programme can attend the intensive seminars, workshop and counselling sessions in either Greece or at any of the other international centres.
How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed by a combination of written coursework, in-class presentations and examinations. As far as possible, coursework will be related to your work environment and the examinations are scheduled twice a year prior to the end of each semester. The examinations and assignments are set, marked and validated by the University of Strathclyde academic staff, and are identical to and assessed on the same basis as students undertaking the programme in the UK. Thus the MBA programme offered in Greece is the same as the full-time mode in the UK in all aspects except delivery.
Your Strathclyde MBA degree
While offered in partnership with International Management Studies, responsibility for academic quality control resides with Strathclyde, and is the same as for the United Kingdom programme. Successful MBA students (via international centres) will be awarded the same Strathclyde University MBA as all UK students.
How long will it take?
The Strathclyde MBA – International, has been specifically designed for busy executives who need to combine career and family commitments with the demands of MBA studies. This flexibility enables participants to graduate within two years. However, your studies may be spread over a longer period to a maximum of six years.
Subject to availability, those students wishing to accelerate their studies may be able to join the full-time MBA programme at Strathclyde University at the elective stage during May, June and July each year. This enables you to complete your electives within a shorter period, as well as experience working with participants from all over the world.
When can I start?
There are two intakes for the Strathclyde MBA in Greece – in April (applications being submitted by the end of February) and in October (applications being submitted by the end August). Finalised course dates and timetables will be provided by International Management Studies.
Applicants should note that the Strathclyde MBA is distinctive in that all MBA students, in addition to a first degree or professional qualification, must have several years’ relevant business experience.

Our credentials speak for themselves
Accreditation is a good guide to how a business school is regarded by its peers. Strathclyde has gained full international accreditation, with all three accrediting bodies around the world - EQUIS (Europe), AMBA (International MBA quality assurance) and AACSB (North America) - approving the school as offering excellent management education.
As one of only 68 business schools in the world with this standing, and the only business school in Scotland to be accredited so highly, Strathclyde continues to lead the way in high quality business education.
We also hold excellent ratings for both our research and the quality of our teaching.
All Strathclyde MBA programmes are accredited by AMBA and all students are eligible to join after enrolment on an MBA course.
Strathclyde is one of only 24 UK business schools to receive EQUIS accreditation.
Strathclyde received accreditation from this prestigious body in December 2003.
