Work, Employment & Organisation (WEO) is all about the nature and regulation of the employment relationship. Our main area of activity is in employment studies and this was named as one of the main areas of the Strathclyde Business School's strengths in both the UK-wide 2008 Research Assessment Exercise and the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF).
Our research has been carried out with a wide variety of external organisations. We work with international institutions and organisations in collaborative research networks and projects.
Our department also houses the Scottish Centre for Employment Research, one of the UK’s leading contributors on workplace innovation and the EU-funded Marie Curie Initial Training Network: Changing Employment that aims to identify the nature of the restructuring of European labour markets and economies as a result of current economic and social change. The Marie Curie network builds on the work of the International Studies in Working Life Doctoral Network.
