Glasgow Digital Library - Developed as part of the Research Support Libraries Programme, the Glasgow Digital Library is home to a set of unique online collections useful to learners, teachers, researchers and anyone with an interest in the political, social, economic and cultural history of the city and its citizens. Using a robust technical infrastructure and with a broad, inclusive collection development policy, the GDL offers free access to a range of archival, library and special collections materials and ephemera on a variety of subjects.

Collections include:

  • Aspect: Access to Scottish Parliamentary Election Candidate Materials 1999 and 2003.
  • Red Clydeside - A history of the labour movement in Glasgow 1910-1932.
  • Maxton Papers - Images and documents about the Socialist politician James Maxton.
  • Springburn Virtual Museum - An online exhibition of photographs and related materials from the Springburn Community Museum.
  • Voyage of the Scotia - Photographs and related materials detailing the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition of 1902-1904.

The GDL also provides access to specially created e-books previously only available in hard-copy.
