CoronavirusStaff update: campus building operations

Dear colleagues,

Following on from the actions taken during the week in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, and the continued transition to reducing travel and non-essential contract with others, the University is now looking at appropriate ways to reduce our campus activities while ensuring that we maintain critical services for our staff and students.

Following Executive Team review and input from our Estates colleagues, the following changes to our building operations will come into effect from Monday 23 March until further notice.

Unless specifically listed below, the majority of buildings will move to a controlled access methodology, in a similar style to processes used over the Festive period, with access requests to be routed to access-request@strath.ac.uk.

The following buildings will remain open:

  • Our Halls of Residence will continue to stay open to care for the needs of our students on campus
  • The Lord Todd will remain partially open to support our Residence staff
  • Our Curran Building will remain open to support key IT operations

The library will remain open until 5pm on 20 March, after which it will be closed until further notice.

Any staff who wish to access buildings or their offices to collect personal effects or material for home working are encouraged to do so before Monday.

The University will continue to adhere to the latest government guidance as this fluid situation develops.

Best wishes,

Steven Wallace
Chief Financial Officer
