University of Strathclyde Covid-19 Student Hardship Fund: Joint Statement – University of Strathclyde and Strath Union Student Support
We are currently experiencing an unprecedented and extraordinary situation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many students will, understandably, be worried about their health and that of their family, their studies, their jobs and the financial impacts of the pandemic and the measures to contain the spread of the virus.
We want to reassure you that the University and Strath Union have been working closely together to support our students and alleviate any money worries you might have.
We have agreed to establish the Strathclyde Covid-19 Hardship Fund and staff in our Student Support teams and the Union’s Advice Hub have jointly prepared additional information for students addressing the most common financial concerns that you have raised.
This fund, alongside our Discretionary Fund, will assist students who are facing hardship as a result of the current situation.
You can find more information about the help that is available to you on our updated Frequently Asked Questions pages.
In the days and weeks ahead, the University and Union will continue to monitor developments and respond accordingly to ensure we are doing everything we can to support our Strathclyde Community.
Your safety, health and wellbeing – and that of your loved ones – is at the heart of every decision we make. The University and Strath Union will continue to do everything we can to support you as the entire community adapts to a new way of working.
