Update: 16 March 2020
Dear Strathclyde Students,
I wrote to you on Sunday to advise you of the University’s move to introduce non-face-to-face teaching from today, Monday 16th March.
In light of the UK and Scottish Governments’ advice this evening, it is now clear that it is appropriate for the University to limit travel to the campus and to transition to a mode whereby the majority of our services will be supported through online and non-face-to-face delivery.
In the coming days we will be transitioning to most of our staff working from home, while ensuring that we optimise the provision of our support and other essential services for students who will remain on campus.
On Tuesday morning, I will meet with the Heads of the Student Support Services and other related essential services to mobilise and implement these arrangements.
I will write to update you again tomorrow afternoon. During these rapidly evolving circumstances, at all times the safety, health and wellbeing of our students and staff have been, and continue to be, of paramount importance to us.
Our staff are highly committed to providing you with the best possible experience and will continue to work closely, supported through our online systems, over the coming days and weeks to ensure the effective delivery of learning, assessment and student services.
While we undoubtedly face unprecedented challenges, I am confident we will continue to work together as a community to support one another.
