Advanced Chemical & Process Engineering (MSc)

Why did you choose to study at Strathclyde?

I have been in Scotland before and I liked the quality of their universities. As I studied engineering I found out that Strathclyde was a well-considered university for engineering and in my case for Chemical Engineering and I decided to study there. Also I read that it was honoured with the Queen’s award for Enterprise and Innovation.

How did you decide what course to choose?

The Chemical & Process Department offered a lot of opportunities but I wanted to do something related with my background, Chemical Engineering, but at the same time expand my knowledge in the matter. These are the reasons why I have chosen MSc in Advanced Chemical & Process Engineering.

Has studying at Strathclyde lived up to your expectations?

Yes it did. I knew it was a modern university but I did not know they had all the facilities and technology in the James Weir building where I was located. With enormous computer labs and rooms prepared to do presentations.

What do you enjoy most about your course?

The thing I enjoyed the most was the individual research project. I was involved in a real research project working in important projects with excellent professors and PhD students. All the laboratory facilities and equipment were very useful to investigate my topic.

What advice would you give to a prospective student coming to study your course?

I would recommend that they enjoy the course to the maximum because it is only one year. And they should take advantage of all that Strathclyde has to offer. Also, they should get the best of all the modules, team projects and obviously the individual research project.

What’s the best thing about studying at Strathclyde?

The best thing about studying in Strathclyde is all the services that they dispose outside the lecturers, such as the library, career service, union, council and meditation among others. All those services are very useful and can help any student to have a better time while they are studying the course.
