Where do you come from? What did you study previously and at which institution?
I come from India. I did my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the Visvesvaraya Technological University affiliated - City Engineering College, India.
What interested you most in choosing this course?
The multidisciplinary approach to the course with inclusion of generic modules and its affiliation to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and meeting the requirements for future learning for attainment of a CEng status were some of the things that attracted me to choosing this course.
Why did you choose Strathclyde?
Strathclyde is one of the leading Universities as far as Engineering is concerned, winning the Times Higher Education Award as the UK University of the Year 2012/13. The faculties and facilities are par excellence and I truly appreciate the student focus that is constantly maintained.
Did you receive a scholarship from the University?
Yes. I am the recipient of a scholarship from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and the Lloyd’s Register Foundation Scholarship 2013/14.
Are you happy you chose the Advanced Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace Option?
Yes. I consider myself lucky to be one among the first batch from the University to be passing out with AME specialisation that has been introduced with my year.
The specialisation modules are highly technical and helped to provide me with the right skill sets.
Are you enjoying studying in Glasgow?
Glasgow is a fun city with lots of activities one can be part of. The people are friendly and helpful. The city has music festivals and other exciting events happening throughout the year.
What do you hope to do after Glasgow?
I intend on concentrating on research within the aerospace domain and see myself working in the field.
