Trans, Non-Binary and Gender Diverse Student Support

The University of Strathclyde aims to be an inclusive community which recognises the potential, talents and contribution of all people regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, sex, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership and pregnancy and maternity (and paternity).

We are committed to creating an environment in which all students irrespective of their sexual orientation and/or trans or gender status, feel welcomed and valued, and in which discriminatory behaviour and harassment is not tolerated.

We recognise the unique issues faced by trans and non-binary students, both in a university environment and in the wider community and are committed to providing support.

We have a named contact group for trans and non-binary students our team can advise you and help co-ordinate support in a range of areas including:

  • Changing your official or 'known as' name, title or gender on your student record.
  • Changing your e-mail address and student card.
  • Communicating with your department with regards to preferred name or pronouns.
  • Referral to external and internal organisations for peer support and information.
  • Issues around accommodation, wellbeing or any other concerns.

If you want to speak to a member of staff about any aspects, please email alex@strath.ac.uk and one of our named contacts below will be in touch.
