Summer School Programmes in China

If you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student currently studying in HaSS and are interested in comparative studies/ Chinese language and culture, The Confucius Institute for Scotland’s Schools (CISS), and The Strathclyde China Institute (SCI) are organising two summer schools to take place in Tianjin and Shanghai.

These are fantastic opportunities for students who are interested in broadening their studies to include a Chinese dimension. Experienced staff with excellent English skills will deliver stimulating workshops and there will be visits to sites of historical and cultural interest in Tianjin/ Shanghai and beyond.  There will also be free time to allow you to explore these cities at your leisure.

Tianjin Normal University (TNU) Summer School

  • Chinese language and culture for beginners
  • 1-15 July 2017
  • Age 30 or under on the dates of the visit
  • Non-Chinese nationals
  • Open to all HaSS students

East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL)

  • Comparative studies at a university in the top 5 in China for Law programmes
  • 17 June - 7 July 2017
  • Open to Law students only

Information Sessions

Information sessions for both opportunities are being held on Monday 20 February:

  • 14:00-15:30 (Business School Cathedral Wing, 507b)
  • 17:00 - 18:30 ( Graham Hills, 702)

Opportunities will be outlined in detail, including content, indicative costs and the related application processes.  Time will also be given over to answer any questions that you may have.  Expressions of interest in attending the meeting can be sent to david.roxburgh@strath.ac.uk
