Explore British railway history and learn what work on the railways was like with this brand new MOOC co-created by staff from the University of Strathclyde’s School of Humanities and the National Railway Museum. This is the first MOOC that the National railway Museum has been involved in. It explores the work of engine-drivers, signallers, navvies and office clerks on the long nineteenth-century railways, and is suitable for anyone with an interest in railway history, from secondary school age upwards.
