Dr Petya Eckler, a senior lecturer in the School of Humanities and researcher in health communication, has published a new book chapter on deception and body image with her doctoral student Anke Kleim.

The chapter is based on Anke’s research into the beach body culture, its representation on social media, and related issues of body image, digital enhancement and idealisation. The chapter is called “Too good to be true: Semi-naked bodies on social media” and appears in the interdisciplinary edited volume Handbook of Research on Deception, Fake News, and Misinformation Online.
