Technology and Innovation Centre

Venue, Travel and Accommodation

The award-winning Technology & Innovation Centre (TIC) offers state-of-the-art conferencing facilities.
Situated in the heart of Glasgow, part of the University of Strathclyde campus, the TIC is within walking distance from transport links and recommended accommodation.

Glasgow International Airport is 15 minutes from the city centre and serves over 100 destinations worldwide, including Canada, the US, the Caribbean, Europe and the Gulf.

Within a 45 minute train journey, Glasgow Prestwick Airport receives international flights from many of the budget flight providers.

There are two main train stations in Glasgow.
Glasgow Central serves south of Scotland, England and Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
Glasgow Queen Street serves Edinburgh and the North. Both stations are within a mile of the conference venue.

Buchanan Bus Station is within walking distance of the conference venue and provides links across Scotland and the rest of the UK.
direct bus connection to Glasgow International Airport is available from Buchanan Bus Station and various other locations in the city centre. The journey time is approximately 20-30 minutes.

We encourage attendees to use the many public transport options available. However, if you wish to use a car, discounted parking is available nearby (tickets must be validated at the reception of the conference venue TIC):
24 hour City Parking, Duke Street, G4 0UW – capped at £5.00 for 24 hours
24 hour NCP, George Street, G1 1RS – capped at £6.50 for 12 hours and £12.50 for 24 hours

There are secure bike racks available outside the TIC centre and across the campus. Glasgow's cycle hire scheme, Next Bikes, is a green way for delegates to get around the city. Bikes are available to hire from various locations (directly opposite the conference venue is one of many).

Glasgow has the 3rd oldest underground system in the world. Affectionally named The Clockwork Orange, this small circuit allows visitors access to the west and south of the city.

More information about travel within Scotland can be found at the Traveline Scotland website.

The conference venue is in the heart of Glasgow City Centre with many hotels and apartments close by. We will update this page with recommended accommodation (and information regarding low budget options soon).
