School of HumanitiesDELE: Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera
Online preparation courses for the DELE exams
Courses are offered by our centre all year round and are aimed at prospective candidates for the DELE exams and last for 14 weeks. They cover the different proficiency levels described by the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2.
Who are the courses for?
The courses are aimed at familiarising learners with the format of the DELE exams and prepare learners to sit the exam. Students enhance their listening and reading comprehension skills, improve their writing technique and prepare for the exams by reviewing grammar, solving specific grammar and vocabulary problems, studying idiomatic expressions, discussing and analysing texts and drawings, and talking practice exams. You must have reached the level you want to test yourself for. The course will help you become familiar with this type of exam and prepare you to pass it.
How can I find out which level I should enrol in?
A1 – Beginner
You can deal with simple exchanges in familiar contexts. You can usually understand enough to keep a basic conversation going.

You have broadened your general language capability and vocabulary to feel comfortable operating effectively in social, academic and professional spheres.

When do they run?
The courses run once a year in late July/early August and last 14 weeks. The next DELE preparation course will start in late July/early August 2023.
How is the course taught?
The course will be delivered online although to improve your oral skills there will be some group sessions via Skype/Zoom meetings (virtual lessons).
You’ll be able choose your own timetable and the only thing you need is the use of a computer with access to the Internet.
The computer platform used for these online courses is moodle, which is very user-friendly. It allows a frequent and personalised interaction between tutor and learners, and amongst the learners themselves.
All the materials will be provided and available in moodle at the start of the course. These include a variety of exercises and activities: reading comprehension and listening comprehension (self-assessed), productive writing (assessed by tutor), live role-plays during oral virtual class, a student forum, external links, etc.
Will I get a certificate?
When the course is completed, you’ll receive a certificate of attendance.
