Self-help therapies are psychological therapies that you can do in your own time to help with problems such as stress, anxiety and depression. Many people find that self-management or ‘self-help’ allows them to feel empowered when looking after their mental health. Self-help is about learning the methods, skills, and strategies to effectively manage your own activities towards your mental health. It allows you to pull together different tools and techniques to create your own mental health care plan.

Students and staff can obtain immediate access to support via SilverCloud, our online CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) e-learning platform.

Silvercloud offers secure, immediate access to online supported CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) programmes, tailored to your specific needs. These programmes have demonstrated high improvement rates for depression and anxiety. The programmes consist of seven to eight modules, you can complete these at your own pace and in your own time. The goal of each module is for you to take the information and techniques learned, and to start applying them in your day-to-day life.
