Before you throw out any old devices, first wipe them of any information:
- log out of any accounts
- clear all information from every browser; if you're not sure how to do this, there are guides online such as how to clear internet browser history
- delete any data held on the device; if there's any data you want to save, back it up to your current device before deleting
