The University has signed up to the Microsoft Campus Agreement which gives the opportunity to run a selection of software on all University-owned PCs and Macs for the duration of the Agreement and for qualifying staff (i.e. in general terms, all categories on the central payroll - except anyone working less than 200 hours per year) to use them on their home computers for University work.

Participation in the Agreement means that any software included in the Agreement can be installed on any machine owned or leased by the University. This includes staff machines, open access machines, and machines in departmental labs.
The Agreement does not cover software for student owned machines although students may use the software on University owned machines on campus.
The scheme is a rental agreement. The software is not owned by the University or staff member.
Within the licensed period staff will have the right to:
- install the Desktop Campus Products in all computers owned by the University for the use of their staff and students
- use any versions of the Desktop Campus Products
- upgrade to the latest available version
- use a Multi-Language version with no extra licence fee
- use the licensed software on one computer they own at home

Software not included in the agreement can be obtained through the Select Scheme from IT Services Sales in the Library.
Software may also be available under other University subscriptions such as Microsoft Imagine or Office365.
