Returning books to the Library
Are you a recent graduate with University Library books at home?
We’ve made it easy for you to return books to us so that other students can use them. You can:
- Return books to the Library building whenever we are open.
- Post books back to us for free.
We have waived overdue fines, except in cases where your book/s on loan have been reserved by someone else.
Return books in person
You don't need your student card to bring books back to the Library. Simply hand your books in at the welcome desk at the main entrance whenever we are open.
We ask that you wear a face covering inside the Library building.
Please check local Coronavirus travel restrictions before making a journey to campus.
Post books back to us for free
We have set up a Freepost service so that people in the UK can send books back to us free of charge.
Please package items carefully in a Jiffy bag (or similar) and address them to:
Don't write anything else on the envelope.
You can then put the item in a post box, or you can take it to a Post Office if you would like proof of postage. For proof of postage you will need to give the Post Office our postcode which is:
We will remove books from your Library record as soon as we receive them. Please check your Library account a few weeks after posting, and if the item has not been removed, then contact us.
Please don't try to use the Freepost service if you live outside of the UK.
