The AFRC was set up in 2009 with the financial backing and support of its founding members. These companies were, and still are, instrumental in setting the research direction and agenda of the centre.
They work alongside the other tier one members in setting the centre’s annual core research programme and benefit from the learnings and resulting intellectual property.
These companies have worked hand-in-hand with the AFRC since inception and have been key to its continued success.

TIMET is the leading supplier of mill and melted titanium products supplying nearly one-fifth of the world’s demand.
