Our researchScotCap

The ScotCap project aims to understand the barriers and facilitators to the implementation of colon capsule endoscopy (CCE) in the NHS colorectal screening/testing service.

CCE is a capsule camera that can image the colon to facilitate diagnosis of bowel disease. CCE might be a less intrusive alternative to reduce the stress on services and patients associated with optical colonoscopy (OC). To investigate this in more detail we are undertaking a qualitative study involving patients and healthcare professionals.

Staff members involved are Dr. Marilyn Lennon (PI), Dr.Matthew Jamieson (research associate), Rachel Munford (RA), Prof.Roma Maguire (Co-I), Dr. Matt-Mouley Bouamrane (Co-I).
