The International Business Development Team has extensive experience of a range of international funders and provides support to the academic community to win international funding.

The main activities of the International Business Development Team include:

  • Early identification of opportunities, including EU Horizon 2020, Global Challenges Research Fund and Newton Fund.
  • Sharing information with academic staff through the RKES Portal and the International Funding Bulletin, training events and individual meetings.  
  • Management of internal funding to support international collaborations.
  • Assistance with construction and presentation of applications, helping academic staff demonstrate how their project contributes to the objectives, priorities and policies of international sponsors.
  • Targetted support for individual academics in preparation for highly competitive opportunities.
  • Taking an active role in the negotiation of contracts and consortium agreements
  • Troubleshooting, should any problems arise.
