Personal statement

Derek Little in a leading expert in solutioning business issues in one of more of these areas:

Identifying where and why organisations fail to meet their goals; to advise and mentor leadership issues for management: to assist and help develop solutions resulting from a failed project or stalled change programs.

My experience extends from engineering management, leadership roles in sales and marketing, IT consultancy through to education and research. In my academic research roles I have been instrumental in developing the futureSME suite of tools and aids to assist manufacturing SME's get the best out the business and increase productivity to working on sustainability in the meat and milk industry under the research banner Enerman. 

His expertrise has been developed over many years working in large corporate organisations in a veriety of staff and management positions. Dr. Little has many years’ experience in project management, lean manufacturing, having published a guide to reducing costs in process environments, to process design and control, strategy, performance management relating to people and manufacturing.

Dr. Little has and currently holds Non Executive Board roles that provide him and the organisations he works for an opportunity to practice his skills and knowledge effectively.

He holds two degrees - a Masters Degree focussed on Competitive Manufacturing Management and his PhD thesis on Strategy linked to individual performance both from The University of Strathclyde.
