I assist new, and etablished, teachers in developing active learning in and outside the classroom and in working with Learning for Sustainability.  I work with, develop and support students in teaching geography in secondary and primary.

On campus I work with a variety of approaches to support students including cooperative learning, outdoor learning and disciplinary literacy and I work in schools with teachers on cooperative learning and disciplinary literacy.

Research interests

I am interested in disciplinary literacy and how experienced teachers can be empowered to embed new literacy pedagogies into the secondary curriculum.  I am currently working in a large secondary school in Glasgow with teachers of all disciplines to improve literacy in their subject area.  In addition, I work with pedagogical frameworks that impact on student teacher learning about cooperative and collaborative pedagogies.
