Accommodation Payment Methods

The quickest and easiest way to make your Accommodation prepayment is online.

For your rent payments choose from our two options: You can set up a monthly recurring card payment, or termly instalments, payments for each term can be made online.

No, but when you accept an offer of accommodation we ask for a rent prepayment of £400 to secure your place. This will be deducted from the first rent instalment. 

We offer the Strathclyde Accommodation Bursary of £1,000 to new entrant Undergraduate students who are staying in University accommodation, are coming from England, Northern Ireland and Wales and are paying the tuition fee of £9,250 per year. No, you don’t need a guarantor to secure your accommodation with us.

 

Once accepted, you can't move out without our permission. If you do, you remain responsible for payment of rent until someone else takes your room.

You will lose your £400 rent prepayment.

Accommodation Services can release you from your contract following a 4-week notice period, so you won’t be liable for the remainder of the contract. Confirmation of your withdrawal must be provided. 

 

Payment options explained

Our Recurring Card Payment (RCP) is an easy and convenient payment method. The payment will be automatically taken from the card you have registered with the university finance team, according to the payment schedule (below). For more details please visit how to set up an RCP plan

Please note: If your card expires during the collection of your accommodation fee payments, you must contact the Finance Helpdesk to have your card details updated. 

Payment can be made online for accommodation rents. Students can make payments through the Finance tab on their Pegasus account.

Additionally, the University payment portal allows students and parents with non-UK payment cards to make a payment in their local currency if the card provider supports the Direct Currency Conversion Service (DCC).

8 monthly instalments divided equally (after you have paid your £400 prepayment.)
