The Get Up and Go Group!

As part of our Age-Friendly Academy initiative, CLL has recently launched a new pilot project called the ‘Get up and Go Group’ (3Gs).  The aim of the group, led by CLL tutor Val Bissland, is to bring together older adults who have ideas of personal, social or community projects they wish to pursue but haven’t taken the first steps to achieve these yet. The group will meet once a month from now until June to share their plans and ideas with the aim of supporting and encouraging each other to take those important first steps and reach their new goals.

10 participants took part in the first meeting in October and shared ideas ranging from writing projects to volunteering and mentoring to photography and genealogy projects.

The next meeting takes part in November and we are very excited to see what new ideas and plans develop amongst the group over the coming months.
