Declaration of Arbroath Family History Project making excellent progress

The University of Strathclyde’s Genealogical Studies Department continue to make excellent progress in their research into the descendants of the nobles and barons associated with the Declaration of Arbroath.

The ‘Declaration of Arbroath Family History Project’ in association with the Foundation for Medieval Genealogy will display their findings and highlights of the research at the Project exhibition to be held at Arbroath Abbey from 3 July to 14 August 2020 and also presented at Dumfries Museum from 12 September to 31 October.

The Herald newspaper reported on the success of the project, which has involved both students and staff who have been involved in developing brief biographies, four generation genealogies showing descendants of the grandparents of the focus individual and details of coats of arms.
