Sharing Childhood 2 (SACHI2)
The Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL) is delighted to be part of an exciting new two year European project, funded by Erasmus+, called Sharing Childhood 2 (SACHI2).
The project, led by the Research Group on Social and Educational Training (GIFES) from the University of Balearic Islands and in partnership with the Association Educational Centre for Intergenerational Integration HIPOKAMP in Poland and the University of Porto in Portugal, is an intergenerational project where older adults will share their knowledge and experiences with children in structured sessions in schools.
The project will focus on planning and research and the recruitment and training of volunteers in year one, followed by implementation and evaluation of the project within schools in all four partner countries in the second year.
Alix McDonald and Gemma Gilliland from CLL recently attended the first project meeting held in Palma, Majorca hosted by the University of Balearic Islands to meet all the other partners, share ideas and start planning the first stages of the project.
Look out for more information on SACHI2 and how you could be involved in early 2017.
