Chinese student Shuai in an Electronic & Electrical Engineering lab

Shuai Wu

Why did you choose to study at Strathclyde?

Engineering here is one of the best in the UK, and the University is also located in Glasgow, which is why I chose Strathclyde.

What do you think about the University?

It's good. As an international student, there are so many people here to help you when you arrive. There were two people sent to meet me when I arrived in Glasgow and took me to the campus which was helpful.

There's the English classes which are great too, as they've helped my English so much. Support services also helped me rent a house, to register at the police office; everything I had to do as an international student.

What are the differences between studying in China, and studying here in the UK?

Here, there are fewer people so you can get access to a lot more resources and get more help from lecturers and professors.

What do you think about Glasgow?

I like Glasgow. What I like most are the people, they're so helpful and kind-hearted. They'll always help you.

What's it like to live here?

I like it. There are a lot of different landscapes to see here. I always try to travel in the weekends. The scenery is so wonderful.

What advice do you have for any other international students thinking about coming to study at Strathclyde?

It's wonderful, so come. You won't regret having your international experience here.
