Student Excellence Awards (SEA) 2020/21

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is pleased to invite applications from excellent students with original research proposals for the University of Strathclyde Student Excellence awards commencing in October 2020. There are six awards available: one for each of our academic Schools.

You should normally have, or be expected to obtain, a first-class honours degree and/or a master’s degree with distinction in a relevant subject.

Funding Details

The awards cover full Home/EU fees and a stipend at current RCUK rates.

How to apply

All applicants must apply online via Pegasus for a place on the PhD programme at Strathclyde by the closing date.

In the Programme Name, please select appropriate PhD study area.

In the Funding section of the Pegasus application form, please write ‘SEA Scholarship’.

You should upload the following documents with your application:

  • 1500-word research proposal
  • A 2-page CV, including your academic achievements and any professional experience
  • Degree certificate and academic transcript
  • 2 Academic reference letters
