Postgraduate taught Life in Glasgow

Our campus

We have around 7,000 postgraduates here at Strathclyde. Students come from more than 100 countries.

Studying at Strathclyde is a fantastic experience for you. In addition to studies, there are a host of clubs and societies to join, volunteering opportunities and there's always an event taking place on campus.

Our campus is based right in the very heart of Glasgow, Scotland’s largest & most cosmopolitan city. We're in the city centre, next to the Merchant City, both of which are great locations for sightseeing, shopping and socialising alongside your studies.

Living in Glasgow

It's important to find the right place to live while studying. At Strathclyde we do offer some postgraduate accommodation on campus. Take a look at our accommodation options.

If you decide you want to leave the campus, your choice would usually be either one of the large scale student residences in the city or a furnished flat to share with friends.

Private accommodation database

We operate a web based service, PAD - Private Accommodation Database, for students and owners of property to rent. We share this with other universities and colleges in Glasgow. This database puts owners and students in touch with each other.

Students with families

International students coming to the UK can bring their spouse and children under the age of 18 with them as their dependants. However, if you plan to bring your spouse/family with you, please bear in mind that the cost of living will increase accordingly.

You should think carefully whether bringing your family with you to the UK is the best option, or whether they should remain at home. It will not be possible for two or more people to live on a budget for only one.
