RIBA Wren Scholarships 2017

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is calling for applications for the RIBA Wren Insurance Association Scholarships 2017 for students who will be commencing the final year of their Part 2 course in September 2017.

The RIBA Wren Insurance Association Scholarships were established in 2013 following a generous donation by The Wren Insurance Association Limited, the architects’ professional indemnity mutual association that currently comprises 60 of the UK’s leading architectural practices.

At the time of application students must be enrolled in an RIBA validated Part 2 professional qualification course in the UK, and be starting the final year in September 2017. Preference will be given to applicants who are RIBA members. (Student membership of the RIBA is free).

The scholarships aim to support outstanding Part 2 students who have the potential to make a significant contribution in the field of architecture.

How to apply

First download the application form:

Submit completed forms by email attachment to with the subject line: 'Wren 2017 submission'

(Electronic files over 8MB, should be sent via an external FTP site, eg. as large files will not get through via email.

The form must be accompanied by the following supporting documents:

  • Up to five pages, at a maximum size of A3, of your student work and any relevant experience. Any more than five pages will not be accepted. (Not a CV).
  • An official document confirming enrolment in the first year of an RIBA validated PART 2 course in the UK.
  • A reference from your Course Leader, indicating their support for you as an applicant. Applicants may also include a reference from their most recent employer, if they are returning to their studies from a year in employment.
  • A photocopy of your ID confirming date of birth (e.g. driving licence, passport).
