RSA John Kinross Scholarships

The RSA John Kinross Scholarships (£2500) are for final year and postgraduate artists and architects to spend a period of 6 to 12 weeks in Florence to research and develop their practice. Florence has been an inspiration to generations of artists and architects and this opportunity allows successful applicants to experience its magnificent history, study its art and architecture, learn the language and create a visual record of their experience.

Ten artists receive an initial payment of £2,300 for travel, accommodation and subsistence, as well as entrance to galleries and museums and any study visits to the surrounding areas, with the remaining £200 awarded on the satisfactory completion of the scholarship. Applicants are required to use this autonomy to their best advantage.

RIBA Norman Foster Travelling Scholarship 2017

The RIBA Norman Foster Travelling Scholarship, generously supported by Lord Foster and Foster + Partners, offers one travelling scholarship of £7,000 to a student of architecture to support international research on a topic and at locations of the student’s choosing.

The topic of the research should however, relate to the survival of our cities and towns and fall under one of the following themes:

  • learning from the past to inform the future
  • the future of society
  • density of settlements
  • sustainability
  • use of resources
  • quality of urban life
  • transport

The travel should take place between June - October 2017.

RIBA Wren Scholarships 2017

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is calling for applications for the RIBA Wren Insurance Association Scholarships 2017 for students who will be commencing the final year of their Part 2 course in September 2017.

The RIBA Wren Insurance Association Scholarships were established in 2013 following a generous donation by The Wren Insurance Association Limited, the architects’ professional indemnity mutual association that currently comprises 60 of the UK’s leading architectural practices.
