BP is one of the largest global oil and gas producers. Its scholarships aim to recognise, reward and support academic excellence, and develop the next generation of engineering talent.

Only nine UK universities participate in its prestigious Scholarship Scheme with the Faculty of Engineering at Strathclyde being the only Scottish member.

Two types of scholarship opportunities are offered.

Eligibility

Second and third year students studying for an MEng in the Departments of

  • Chemical & Process Engineering
  • Electronic & Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering
  • Naval Architecture, Ocean & Marine Engineering

Further Information

Recipients of this scholarship are not permitted to hold, or apply for, any other company-supported scholarships.

How to apply

Students do not need to apply for this scholarship but the Departments nominates students, based on their academic performance in the relevant year, to BP. Students are then selected by BP to be awarded and the scholarship is then paid by cheque directly to the student.
