Scholarships & funding opportunities

BP logoBP Scholarships

BP is one of the largest global oil and gas producers. The aim of BP scholarships are to recognise, reward and support academic excellence, and develop the next generation of engineering talent.

BP relies on talented and ambitious business & trading professionals, engineers and scientists. We are delighted to offer second year students at University of Strathclyde the chance to secure a scholarship that will support you for the duration of your science, engineering, management or economics degree.*

Being a BP scholar will provide financial support of £3,000 per year, and much more. You’ll have unique opportunities to experience first-hand what we do – whether it’s using the latest technology to find oil and gas, building platforms in the ocean, developing low-carbon fuels and lubricants, working on the bustling trading floor or supporting the whole business through functions such as HR, Sales or Procurement.

You’ll be invited to join us for exclusive events and experiences and to meet BP employees who are currently or have recently been on our graduate and intern programmes.
If you’re interested in discovering even more, being a BP scholar will fast track you to an interview for an internship or graduate role later on in your degree.

Other scholarship opportunities are also available at University of Strathclyde. If you are applying for, or already receiving, a corporate scholarship or bursary with an annual value of up to £1,500, you may also apply to the BP scholarship scheme (providing that your funding source permits this). However, if you are receiving annual scholarship funding above £1,500 you will not be eligible for the BP scheme.
