Spirit AeroSystems Scholarship

Spirit AeroSystems are one of the largest non-OEM manufacturers and suppliers of aerospace components in the world.  A $7 billion company with more than 16,000 highly skilled employees. Spirit has facilities in the U.S., U.K., France and Malaysia.  The scale, volume and variety of Spirit’s programs tell the story of modern aerospace manufacturing- from aluminium structures built with the latest robotics technology, to the most advanced composite production and curing techniques.

In its Prestwick, Scotland location, Spirit produces leading edge and trailing edge structures of the Airbus A320 family and wing structures for the Boeing 767.  The Prestwick site also has responsibility for the design and production of the leading edge structure of the Airbus A350 and is finalising plans for production of a new Airbus work package for spoilers.

Spirit is focused on areas of research and development that specifically address current customer needs and anticipate opportunities for programs of the future.  Spirit recently announced plans to build the Aerospace Innovation Centre at the Prestwick location to support growth in research and technology, positioning the business at the forefront of aerospace technology.
