John Fitzsimons Memorial Scholarships

The John Fitzsimons Memorial Scholarships provide bursary support for academically talented mature students.

You must be 25 years or older to apply, and can be studying for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or diploma, taught within the Law School.

The scholarship will assist with the costs associated with study and you must be in acute financial need to qualify.

Paul and Vanessa Watchman Postgraduate Bursary

The purpose of the Bursary is to provide opportunities for postgraduate students to study International Law and Sustainable Development and Climate Change Law and Policy at the University of Strathclyde. This scholarship is generously provided by Paul and Vanessa Watchman to promote post graduates studies in the field of international environmental law and governance.

SEERIL Annual Scholarship Opportunities

Each year the Section for Energy, Environment and Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law (SEERIL) of the International Bar Association (IBA) offers scholarship awards.

The aim of this scholarship scheme is to advance the development and understanding of the law affecting oil and gas, mining, power, water, international construction projects and environmental, health and safety law.

The scholarships are aimed at students wishing to undertake a postgraduate taught degree (masters) or a postgraduate research degree (PhD) in energy and natural resources law.

Lord Hope Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

The Law School is delighted to announce the continuation of the Lord Hope Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme. Under this initiative, two partial scholarships of £1,000 each (£500 for part-time) will be available for applicants across our range of LLM/MSc programmes in the academic year 2018/19. The awards will be granted on a competitive footing offered on the basis of financial need and academic merit.

Awards are available for applicants across a range of our LLM/MSc courses for 2018/19.

If you're successful in your application, you'll also be invited to attend a celebratory dinner hosted by patron of the scheme and Emeritus Professor of the Law School, the Rt Honourable Lord Hope of Craighead KT, PC, FRSE.

Strathclyde Law School Community Bursary

Strathclyde Law School is offering a £700 fee reduction for applicants to the LLM Criminal Justice & Penal Change or LLM Human Rights Law degrees who are working at one of our community partner organisations. 

Applicants to a part-time LLM will receive a £350 fee reduction in a maximum of 2 years of study.
