Upskilling @ StrathclydeBusiness Fundamentals

Business Fundamentals is a module offered by the triple-accredited Strathclyde Business School. Learners will have the opportunity to develop skills in a broad range of business activities to enhance knowledge and skills in a variety of essential business elements.

This short course will focus on an introduction to management and leadership, with three key areas of focus Leadership; recruitment and selection; and personal and professional development.

What you'll learn

The module will cover:

  • leadership, developing leadership styles, ethical leadership and corporate social responsibility
  • motivation, team development, management and emotion; organisational commitment and psychological contract;
  • personal and professional development for self and staff

Details

Delivery

This module will be delivered as a distance learning class over the course of 10 weeks. Course materials will be available via our virtual learning environment and will be delivered online through a combination of self-paced study and some live sessions. The course will commence Summer 2022.

Who can apply?

This module will be of interest to a variety of audiences, from those in work but are seeking enhanced skills to those seeking employment or changing career as a result of economic disruption.

Assessment

The module will be assessed in a variety of ways, including forum posts, quizzes and written assignments.

Funded places

Funded places are available for this module supported by the Scottish Government and the Scottish Funding Council.

What will I get at the end of it?

This module is worth 20 credits at SCQF Level 7. You'll receive a formal University Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificate when you complete the module.
